Provisional Sanctuaries at Tashkeel, Dubai — 24 Oct–26 Nov 2026

Provisional Sanctuaries, exhibition by Malaysian artist Shamin Sahrum at Tashkeel, Dubai, 2026

Tashkeel, the Dubai art and design organisation, presents Provisional Sanctuaries, a solo exhibition by the Malaysian artist and designer Shamin Sahrum. Through paintings, drawings and maquettes, the show isolates and rebuilds fragments of the quiet, temporary musollas — prayer rooms — that appear in warehouses, shopfronts and back rooms across the UAE’s cities, asking how such improvised spaces create belonging and stillness.
