Sky Glabush: If the wild bird could speak at Alison Jacques, London — 20 Nov 2026–9 Jan 2027

Sky Glabush painting (detail) from If the wild bird could speak at Alison Jacques, London, 2026

Alison Jacques presents If the wild bird could speak, its first exhibition with the Canadian painter Sky Glabush, whose representation the gallery announced earlier in 2026. According to the gallery, the show brings together large paintings of the Great Lakes, forests, dense vegetation and sunflower fields with a group of smaller, more intimate works. Glabush mixes sand into his oil paint to build tactile, relief-like surfaces, and develops each image intuitively from a loose structure that dissolves and re-forms as he works.
