Gérard Garouste: Brisure at Templon, Paris — 4 Nov–30 Dec 2026

Gérard Garouste, La vache rousse et les myrthes (2026), gouache on paper, from the exhibition Brisure at Templon, Paris, 2026

Templon presents Brisure, a solo exhibition of new work by Gérard Garouste at its Grenier Saint-Lazare space in the Marais. According to the gallery, the show brings together paintings, gouaches on paper, drawings and bronze sculptures made over the past four years around the idea of “breaking”: interrupting a settled form so that new meaning can emerge. The title refers to the Kabbalistic notion of the breaking of the vessels, which Garouste uses as a model for reading texts. Its centrepiece is the triptych L’Amandier (2026), around 3.5 metres wide. The exhibition accompanies the book Brisure by Pierre-Henry Salfati (Flammarion).
