Yaw Owusu: Where the Tide Flows, and the Dunes Gather at Efie Gallery, Dubai — 16 Nov 2026–10 Jan 2027

Efie Gallery presents Where the Tide Flows, and the Dunes Gather, the second solo exhibition at the gallery by Ghanaian artist Yaw Owusu (born 1992, Kumasi), timed to Efie’s fifth anniversary and opening during Alserkal Art Week. Owusu builds shimmering, gold-toned sculptures from thousands of low-denomination coins — Ghanaian pesewas, US pennies and UAE fils — to ask who assigns value and who owns it. At the heart of the show is a new group of works on paper made from the oxidised residue of his sculptural process, turning what is normally discarded into both material and record.
