Jörg Immendorff at Galerie Alain Margaron, Paris — 5 Nov 2026–9 Jan 2027
Galerie Alain Margaron presents “Immendorff”, a solo exhibition devoted to the German painter Jörg Immendorff (1945–2007). Some thirty works, mainly paintings made between 1979 and 2006, are arranged around two moments of his career: his return to painting, when he addressed the society and geopolitics of his time — the division of Germany and the stand-off between the blocs in Europe — through open-ended symbols and allegories; and the period from the late 1990s, when, facing progressive paralysis, he invented new working methods, from designing on screen and digital images to stencils, projections and prints carried out by assistants. A catalogue with an essay by Fabrice Hergott, director of the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, accompanies the show.
