Carlos Casas: Viaje al centro de la tierra at àngels barcelona, Barcelona — 6 Nov 2026–16 Jan 2027
àngels barcelona presents “Viaje al centro de la tierra” (Journey to the Centre of the Earth), a solo exhibition by Barcelona-born artist and filmmaker Carlos Casas. It presents part of the research behind his film Krakatoa, which starts from the 1883 eruption of the Indonesian volcano, and explores the sonic, seismic and mythical dimensions of that catastrophe. Visitors encounter vibrational platforms fitted with transducers that turn seismic signals into physical sensations, sound sculptures, audiovisual and light installations, drawings, photographs and archival documents — including a vibrational reconstruction of the 1883 eruption and Krakatoa 2066, a speculative composition imagining a future one.
