Cindy Sherman: Fabric Matrons at Hauser & Wirth, London — 13 Oct–23 Dec 2026

Hauser & Wirth London presents the first showing of Cindy Sherman’s new series Fabric Matrons — chromogenic colour prints, all made in 2026. Draped fabric serves as both costume and backdrop, so that Sherman’s characters seem to dissolve into their settings; some scenes use archival fabrics and jewellery from Chanel. The series looks at identity as something constructed over a lifetime and at how women negotiate their own visibility as they age.
