Li Hei Di: the year of mud at Pace Gallery, New York — 6 Nov–19 Dec 2026

Pace Gallery presents the year of mud, an exhibition of new paintings by London-based artist Li Hei Di and the artist’s first solo show with Pace in New York since joining the gallery in 2024. Moving between figuration and abstraction, the canvases draw on the Chinese myth of the goddess Nüwa, who shaped humankind from flung droplets of mud, to picture the body as a vessel for memory, emotion and desire in continual transformation. Pace Publishing will follow the show with a monograph including a new essay by Tyler Blackwell, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Speed Art Museum.
