Malik Thomas Jalil Kydd: As I Bask in Your Light, it Seeps to My Soul at CARBON 12, Dubai — 16 Nov 2026–5 Jan 2027

CARBON 12 on Alserkal Avenue presents As I Bask in Your Light, it Seeps to My Soul, the second solo exhibition at the gallery by Malik Thomas Jalil Kydd (b. 1995, Kent, UK). Following his 2025 debut there, Garden of Murmurs, the show brings together works made since then and, according to the gallery, marks a significant evolution in his practice. Desire and divinity are the central themes. Kydd paints and draws on stitched panels of raw silk — the announcement work, Bather Basked in Moonlight (2026), is an oil on raw silk measuring 240 × 140 cm — with large, luminous figures drawn from personal encounters, life drawing and devotional imagery.
