Mildred Thompson: Cosmos Calling at Galerie Lelong, New York — 29 Oct–19 Dec 2026
Galerie Lelong in Chelsea presents Cosmos Calling, a posthumous solo exhibition of the American abstract painter Mildred Thompson (1936–2003). According to the gallery, the show centres on her Music of the Spheres paintings — large planetary triptychs of about 8 x 12 feet, each paired with an electronic composition the artist made in response to NASA’s Voyager recordings — alongside works from her magenta-and-cobalt Heliocentric Series, works on paper and ephemera. It is the gallery’s third exhibition dedicated to Thompson.
