Gagosian Beverly Hills brings together more than 120 photographs from over fifty years of Richard Avedon’s career — iconic portraits alongside rarely seen images — to examine Hollywood as an American construct whose glamour and power made it a global touchstone. Sitters range from Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe and Katharine Hepburn to Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles, Tilda Swinton and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The exhibition is curated by The Richard Avedon Foundation.
