Steve McCurry: Immersion at Polka Galerie, Paris — 12 Nov 2026–16 Jan 2027
Polka Galerie presents “Immersion” by Steve McCurry, the second chapter of its “Immersion” series (after Joel Meyerowitz), which sets a photographer’s prints alongside films about how the work is made. In September 2026, Polka’s director Adélie de Ipanema and filmmaker Florent Lacaze spent three days with Steve McCurry in Pennsylvania, filming his home, his daily routine and the streets of Philadelphia. Four 15-minute films — on his studio, his archive of nearly 1,000 square metres and his working method — play on screens while the photographs hang on the walls. The route runs through India, Pakistan and the United States, from Taj and Train (1983) to the portrait of Sharbat Gula, and emphasises McCurry’s saturated colour, precise composition and patient approach to portraiture. The exhibition is supported by Leica, with film music by Martin Rappeneau. Admission is free.
