Alissa Kim Tjen

Born in Seoul, Korea.
Living and working in North Vancouver, Canada.

Working in semi-abstract acrylic on canvas, Tjen’s paintings explore light, water, and atmosphere, drawing on Gaston Bachelard’s Water and Dreams as a touchstone for treating water as a living, transformative subject rather than a passive backdrop.
