At the harbor entrance, an inspector weighed every thought before letting it cross the sea. The violinist’s first thought came in at seven kilos; her second weighed nothing at all. The weightless one settled between the rhinoceros’s horns, and the three of them glided on past the boats. The inspector kept the empty scale and spent the rest of his life trying to weigh his own astonishment.
