At midday, the woman noticed a tiny city hidden inside the colorful fish. Its streets formed a geometry that fit no map, and every one of them led to the silence beneath the rhinoceros’s golden horn. Until dark she searched the water for the city’s gate. It was only when she closed her eyes that its doors finally opened.
