Every year the violinist played for the creature that carried the sea on his back, and every year he never once turned his head. During her final performance, a string on her violin snapped, and the trumpeter lowered her instrument. Far below, a thousand small fish changed direction all at once. It was the first time the ocean had ever applauded.
